What does your job entail?
Developing new markets and gaining new customers.
What does a typical day involve for you?
A typical day for me would involve answering customer RFQ’s and preparation for upcoming events that Goudsmit UK are participating in.
How did you get into this line of work?
I moved from engineering into a Technical Sales Account Management role in my previous company – this gave me the foundation of sales and understanding of costing work within a manufacturing organisation.
What’s the best part of your job at Goudsmit UK?
The travelling and social interaction that comes with the job.
What personal qualities are required to do your job?
You must be a “people person” and a good communicator!
What’s the biggest challenges you face in your job?
It’s a sales position so the biggest challenge will always be achieving targets.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
When a simple conversation with somebody turns into an interesting sales lead.
What’s the best piece of advice you could give to a new person joining your team?
Not to be nervous about settling in. Everyone here made me very welcome from day one, which as it can be a nerve-racking experience changing jobs was great.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my girlfriend and family and walking our cockapoo Ralfie. I also have an obsession learning about astronomy, ancient history and technology.
Any fun / interesting facts about you?
I can speak some Turkish which is more useful than it seems!
What time will you get home this evening?
I get home at 5:00pm depending on traffic.
