The Manufacturing Landscape: A Testament to Women’s Ingenuity and Strength
The landscape of manufacturing has been profoundly transformed by the contributions of women, whose expertise, innovation, and leadership continue to drive the industry forward. As we embrace International Women’s Day, it’s essential to recognise the shifting dynamics within manufacturing. Manufacturing is a sector that increasingly welcomes the diverse perspectives and skills of women. The women at Goudsmit UK and beyond are redefining what it means to lead and innovate in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Celebrating Our Women: Diversity and Strength at Goudsmit UK
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Goudsmit UK takes a moment to honour the incredible women within our ranks whose expertise, dedication, and spirit drive us forward. Therefore, this year, we are shining a light on the unique perspectives and advice from our female colleagues.
Cathy Robinson – Managing Director
Cathy reflects on the importance of International Women’s Day as an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and empowerment. She also urges women to pursue any career path with determination and support from their female peers:
“International Women’s Day for me is an opportunity for reflection and gratitude. When I consider my achievements, both professionally and personally, it is clear to me that I wouldn’t have achieved a single thing without the support of the women in my life. I am continually educated, supported, lifted, awed, and inspired to be the best version of myself by the women in my family and by my female friends, and colleagues.
Today woman are empowered to actively seek opportunities and succeed in industries or sectors that perhaps were not previously considered as “viable” career choices for females. The percentage of females working in the manufacturing sector continues to grow and they can be found in all ranks from the shop floor to management and senior leadership positions. My advice to other women would be, ignore any preconceived barriers when considering a career in any industry. Education and hard work will always pay off and in any situation try to learn from and support your female colleagues and friends as it is true that “behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.”
